  I decided to try ikids Dental as it is closer to my home than Cherrygum Dental. While I can't comment on the dental treatment, our time was waisted by the 'difficult' receptionist. When booking an appointment for my preschool children, I was told we could not come after 3pm as this slot was reserved for adolescents, this is not an issue at Cherrygum. She then told me that during the school holidays would be alright so I booked an appointment for 4pm then. After waiting a month to see the dentist, a day before the appointment, the receptionist rang to ask if we could now come at 10am, as it was 'against their protocols to have preschoolers at 4pm', again this is not an issue at Cherrygum. Of course by then we could not, as we had already planned for another appointment at 10:30 am that day. The receptionist then called us at 3:50pm on the day of our appointment to ask us to come in later. I asked how much later and was told 30 minutes. While I appreciate a courtesy call, 10 minutes before the appointment is a little late to advise that the dentist is running behind, we were already in the car driving there. I told her that unfortunately it wouldn't work for us, and that we'd have to cancel. The receptionist promptly and abruptly hung up! No appology for the inconvenience and no asking if I'd like to reschedule. It's been a long time since coming across reception staff with a poor phone manner and client service such as this and as a result we'll be going back to the ever friendly and reliable Cherrygum Dental.
